Ken Seakins

  • Studio Leader
  • C.O.T Architectural Drafting / Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Building & Construction)

Ken is an experienced professional with integrated qualifications in architecture and construction. He is a savvy manager of projects and his favourite part of any project is rolling out those finishing phases on site, and seeing all the hard work of the client and project team finally come together to realise a shared vision.

Ken has worked in the industry for over 30 years, giving him a unique insight into the foundations of design as well as an eye for trends and themes. He is a perfect fit for the VIA team with his thoughtful human approach to design: he loves seeing a practical design come to life, and not only displaying an appealing aesthetic but functioning effectively for the people who use it every day.

With a talent for switching between different skills as and when required, Ken can be an inspired people-manager one day – juggling the demands of secondary and sub consultants – and a hawk-eyed administrator the next – keeping on top of all those all-important, finely detailed construction documents.

Outside work, Ken is active in the community and can be found volunteering for various sporting organisations or chilling out at live music events. When the Victorian weather is fine, he will be found outdoors soaking up the sunshine.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?

X-ray vision for when working on old buildings and being able to know what is hidden!
