DELIVERING AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH HEART

As a design studio, we are dedicated to creating spaces that make a positive impact on families and individuals. We had the privilege of delivering a new affordable housing project in Cheltenham—an initiative by National Affordable Housing (NAH) and Homes Victoria, developed in collaboration with Pitard Group.

Our empathetic design approach went beyond providing basic shelter. Our core focus was to deeply understand the unique needs and circumstances of the residents, ensuring that each apartment became a haven of comfort, dignity and stability.

The project delivered a total of 120 new apartments, offering secure social housing to approximately 170 Victorians facing adversity. The thoughtfully designed homes are conveniently located next to the Westfield Southland Shopping Centre, ensuring easy access to bus and train services. The provision of secure and high-quality housing in a prime location would empower families and individuals to thrive.

With a focus on fostering a genuine sense of community and belonging, our goal was to create an environment that residents would be proud to call home. We optimised each apartment for liveability and natural light, integrating contemporary finishes and additional study areas into the open-plan layouts.

In close collaboration with our project partners, we achieved a harmonious balance of commercial, social and environmental outcomes. Our focus was on seamlessly blending convenience and accessibility, ensuring that the living environment was sympathetic to the needs of the residents.
