REIMAGINING SENIORS LIVING DESIGN // PAVILIONS BLACKBURN LAKE STAGE TWO NOW COMPLETE

We’ve hit another significant milestone at Pavilions Blackburn Lake with the recent completion of Stage Two. This achievement not only marks a pivotal moment for the project, but also represents a shift across Australia’s seniors living landscape.

With multiple accolades already in hand and the much-anticipated wellness centre now a reality, Pavilions Blackburn Lake emerges as an exemplary model, showcasing the possibilities for our ageing population when we reimagine our approach to seniors living.

A NEW ERA IN SENIORS LIVING DESIGN

Pavilions Blackburn Lake is more than just a retirement community; it embodies our dedication to architecture that enhances the human experience. Our Managing Director, Frank Bambino, highlighted the impact of a resident-centric approach to architecture on the quality of life of senior residents.

“Pavilions Blackburn Lake is not just a place for seniors to retire; it’s a place where they can thrive,” Frank emphasised. “The project embodies a shift towards a more personalised, lifestyle-driven approach to seniors living, setting a new standard for the industry.”

GLOBAL INSIGHTS, LOCAL IMPACT

Frank’s recent international study tours have provided invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of seniors living across the globe. From New Zealand to the US, Canada to Europe, Frank has explored diverse communities and design philosophies across continents, all aimed at empowering residents with choice and enhancing their overall quality of life.

“Creating communities that encourage active lifestyles emerged as a central theme, highlighting the need to support activities that contribute to improved wellbeing,” Frank highlighted. “A focus on the culinary experience demonstrates that premium food and beverage offerings are integral components of enhancing the resident experience.”

These global insights have been instrumental in shaping our approach to Pavilions Blackburn Lake. “With the integration of Miss Lucy café, we’ve not only delivered a space for premium dining but also fostered broader community integration through its street-front entrance,” Frank explained.

“The recently completed wellness centre stands also as a pivotal amenity, empowering residents to maintain an active lifestyle, partake in leisure activities and indulge in pampering experiences.”

Incorporating lessons learned globally around creating an intergenerational environment, cognisant of the true meaning of home, Pavilions Blackburn Lake features amenities that resonate with all generations.

“A family-friendly pool and kids’ playground cultivate an inclusive atmosphere, making Pavilions Blackburn Lake a place the grandkids can’t wait to visit,” Frank added.

SETTING THE BAR HIGH

Receiving significant industry recognition to date, Pavilions Blackburn Lake stands as a shining example of what’s possible when we put residents at the heart of the design process. Upon completion, Stage One of the project secured development of the year awards across seniors living, retirement and architectural design categories, recognised by the Property Council of Australia, The Urban Developer and Good Design Australia.

With each stage of development, we remain committed to realising a vision of creating a vibrant and harmonious community that enhances the lifestyle of its residents.

LOOKING AHEAD

As we celebrate the completion of Stage Two, we also look to the future with enthusiasm. With Stage Three already underway, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries in seniors living design.

“Pavilions Blackburn Lake is just the beginning. It’s a model for what seniors living can and should be—a vibrant, inclusive community that prioritises not just the needs, but the wants of its residents,” Frank concluded.
