THE WELCOMING FACE OF THE STUDIO // CELEBRATING KRISTEN PERRY’S JOURNEY AT VIA
Join us in recognising Kristen Perry, VIA’s dedicated Office Manager, who has been an integral part of our team for 12 years. Kristen’s journey reflects our studio’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive environment where everyone thrives.
In this interview, Kristen (or KP as we fondly call her) shares her experiences, insights and the valuable lessons she’s learned along the way.
Q: Being the backbone of the studio for over a decade, you’ve seen VIA grow and evolve. What are some of your highlights of being part of the team and watching it grow over the years?
KP: Observing VIA’s transformation under Frank’s leadership has been remarkable.
One of the most rewarding aspects has been witnessing the growth of graduates over the years, from first starting out to becoming actively involved in projects as they develop in their careers. It’s incredible to watch them flourish!
Q: You’re often the first welcoming face you see as you step into the studio, contributing significantly to the atmosphere. What’s your approach to fostering positivity?
KP: I firmly believe that everyone is equal, regardless of their level of seniority. I also love to bring laughter and joy to people’s days!
Q: Throughout your years at VIA, there have been many milestones and achievements. Can you share a memorable moment that stands out, reflecting the growth and collaborative spirit of the studio?
KP: Every company birthday is a milestone for us. It’s not just about the cake and celebrations, but about reflecting on how far we’ve come as a team. Winning awards and watching the company grow are achievements in themselves, but it’s the shared moments of celebrating as a team that stand out for me.
Q: Having the time for work, family and passion projects can be a balancing act. What is your approach to maintaining a healthy work-life balance?
KP: For me, completing tasks before leaving the office is key. It allows me to leave work at work and focus fully on my family and other interests outside of office hours. Knowing that my head is clear when I leave the office helps me maintain that balance and be present in every aspect of my life.
Q: Your dedication to animal welfare is admirable. What inspired you to foster animals and have there been any life lessons from this pursuit?
KP: Fostering animals and pet sitting are my passions. Knowing that I can provide a second chance for pets in need is incredibly fulfilling. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that every being deserves a second chance.
Q: With over a decade at VIA, there must be some memorable office stories. Could you share some of your fondest moments to date?
KP: One of my favourite moments was when Thomas Mitton was made Associate. I had the pleasure of watching him grow from a fun-loving student to the responsible man he is today. Seeing his journey and the pride on his face that day reminded me of the supportive and nurturing environment we have at VIA.
Another memorable aspect is having numerous staff return to VIA after leaving for other jobs. It speaks volumes about the sense of belonging we’ve cultivated here.
Kristen’s smiling face and infectious positivity have played an integral role in shaping the vibrant culture and collaborative spirit at VIA. We’re grateful for her contributions and look forward to many more years of laughter and shared success.
